The short version: Lettered Streets Radio (website, mobile app, and CarPlay/Android Auto experience) is a listen-only internet radio station. We don't ask you to create an account, we don't collect your name, email, or location, and we don't sell or share personal data with advertisers. The app's only job is to stream our station and show you what's currently playing.
Who this applies to
This policy covers letteredstreetsradio.com, the Lettered Streets Radio mobile app for iOS and Android, and the same experience as it appears on CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected Bluetooth car stereos. It's operated by Lettered Streets Radio, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Information we collect
We do not require or ask for any personal information to listen to the station. Specifically:
- No accounts. There is no sign-up, login, or user profile anywhere in the app or on the site.
- No location data. The app never requests or accesses your device's location.
- No contacts, camera, or microphone access. The app doesn't request permission to any of these.
- No advertising identifiers or third-party trackers. We don't run ads in the app and don't embed ad-network SDKs.
Technical data, automatically
Like any internet service, some basic technical data is handled automatically by the infrastructure that plays and delivers the stream — this isn't something we collect ourselves, but it's worth being upfront about:
- Our streaming partner, Live365, delivers the actual audio stream and, like any streaming host, processes standard connection data (such as IP address and approximate region) to serve the stream reliably and report aggregate listenership.
- The app looks up song artwork using Apple's public iTunes Search API when our own station data doesn't already include it. That lookup only ever sends the song title and artist — never anything about you.
- Standard app-store and app-platform mechanics (crash logs, if a device chooses to report one) may be handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies — we don't operate a separate analytics or crash-reporting service of our own at this time.
What shows up on your lock screen or car dashboard
To display "now playing" on your phone's lock screen, CarPlay, Android Auto, or Bluetooth-connected car stereo, the app shares the currently playing song title, artist, and cover art with your device's own media system — the same information already shown in the app itself. This is standard media-playback metadata, handled entirely on your device, and isn't sent anywhere else by us.
Children's privacy
Lettered Streets Radio is a general-audience music station and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your choices
Because we don't collect personal data, there's generally nothing to opt out of. If you'd simply rather not use the app, you can always listen at letteredstreetsradio.com, on Apple Music, TuneIn, or by asking Alexa — no account required on any of them either.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes — for example, if we ever add analytics, push notifications, or account-based features (like the contesting or listener-voicemail features on our roadmap) — we'll update this page and revise the effective date above before those features ship. As one example: a future listener-voicemail feature could involve playing a submitted recording, along with the listener's name and city, on the air — if that ships, this section will spell out exactly what's collected, why, and how you'd consent to it before it applies to you.
